The Organization

The Hocking County Community Improvement Corporation was established as an economic development entity. Since the Hocking County CIC is privately funded, projects in development are subject to competitive wages rather that prevailing wages making it much easier and economical to locate or expand in Hocking County. The Hocking County CIC works closely with city and county officials to promote economic growth, retention and expansion of current businesses.

Industrial Park

The first Industrial Park in Logan and Hocking County was developed by the Hocking County CIC in the 1960s. A 50-acre park along Chieftain Drive has since been developed.

The Hocking County CIC also owns the CIC Professional Building on State Route 664 North and a 40,000 square foot office complex on East Front Street.

A local, volunteer board of directors and a full-time executive director guide the Hocking County CIC. The organization may purchase, develop and market commercial buildings, commercial sites and the industrial park in cooperation with private developers and property owners.

The Hocking County CIC has been instrumental in marketing Logan and Hocking County as a great place to live and work.

Affiliations

Working closely with other local organizations, the Hocking County CIC can accommodate, facilitate and expedite projects for companies and developers.

The Hocking County CIC is directly related to the Logan-Hocking Chamber of Commerce and has launched a new organization, Appalachian Advanced Energy Association, LLC. In partnership with Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, the trade association will recruit business members interested in attracting jobs in Advanced Energy. Advanced Energy technologies such as hydrogen fuel, wind, solar power and other forms of alternative energy.


 

MISSION STATEMENT
The Hocking County Community Improvement Corporation’s mission is to advance, encourage and promote the industrial, economic, commercial, retail and civic development of Hocking County in partnership with the municipalities and county officials.
