Logan-Hocking School District

Hocking Valley Community Hospital

Serves the majority of Hocking County residents in a system comprised of five public K-5 schools and a SPROUTS pre-school, one middle school (grades 6-8) and one high school.
Logan High School offers college preparatory and vocational courses.

The Logan-Hocking School District is currently implementing a master plan for new school buildings. The plan includes:

  • A new high school currently under construction
  • Three new elementary schools have been constructed
  • Two new elementary schools will be constructed
  • New athletic complex and auditorium will be built

Tri-County Joint Vocational School

Located in Nelsonville, just 15 minutes from Logan, job-specific technical training is provided to 700 high school students. There are 600 full-time adult students enrolled in adult education center and 2,000 students enrolled in part-time courses. www.tricountyhightech.com

Hocking College

Ohio’s largest 2-year technical college is located on 2,300 acres in Nelsonville,15 minutes from Logan, and serves 6000 students. The College Partners closely with many local employers offering a number of programs that are the only ones of their kind in the county and some that are the first of their kind in the state. Hocking College boasts the only operating fuel cell on a college campus. www.hocking.edu

Hocking College Energy Institute

Because of Hocking College’s commitment to learning by doing through a flexible and expert approach, thousands of students have acquired the experience and global perspective to live in and contribute to today’s changing world.

The Hocking College Energy Institute, an innovative, state-of-the-art facility will be situated across from the Logan-Hocking Industrial Park. It will be:

A training Center for sustainable energy technologies used in transporation, extraction (mining), buildings, and heavy industry

  • An applied research center for businesses
  • A state-of-the-art incubator for establishing new businesses
  • An enhance learning center for advanced energy technology
  • A flexible design that adapts to advances in energy technology
  • A maximization of local resources while minimizing environmental impact
