Location
Hocking County was created in 1818 from sections of Ross, Fairfield, Athens Counties and has been home to native Americans known as Mound Builders and the Shawnee as well as European traders and settlers. Logan is named for a famous Mingo Indian Chief. The City of Logan is the county seat of Hocking County. It is situated in the center of the system of Hocking area parks. The industrial sector of the area's economy includes clay and slag products, metal assemblies, wood and paper products, and office supplies. Life in the Hocking Hills offers safety, essential services, proximity to culture, shopping, major sports and entertainment. A large number of local and locally represented businesses and organizations are members of the Logan-Hocking Chamber of Commerce. |
